What style/brand of wristwatch suits you best?

Although many may deny it, keeping track of the time is one of the primary considerations a person has. With so many things that must be accomplished in one day, it is necessary to constantly watch the time to make sure that everything is done on schedule.

There is such a wide variety of timepieces that it is hard to find the one that suits us best… we get distracted by elements that aren’t all that important to us, but that are definitely interesting, and we end up buying something that doesn’t always suit us; or we end up not buying a thing.

Take the following test and find out what type (and brand) of wristwatch suits you best. Afterwards you can visit the lens to find out more, or just click on the links below and take a look at the available models at reduced prices.

TAG Heuer hits the mark

TAG Heuer has always been famed for its original and exciting watch advertisements with the latest offering not disappointing its legion of fans: Starring the richest golfer in the world, Tiger Woods and a mystery Formula 1 driver, the advertisement features amazing camera work and effects at a rumored multi million dollar cost to the owners of TAG Heuer, leading luxury goods company LVMH. The current TAG Heuer produced models centre around the racetrack theme with recent release including the Monaco V4, which has a movement that is driven by belts rather than gears and the Carrera Calibre 360 which is the first mechanical wristwatch to measure and display time to 1/100th of a second. The golf connection has also continued with Tiger Woods himself collaborating in 2006 with TAG to produce a watch named ‘The Professional Golf Watch’ which went on to win awards at the International Forum Design in Hanover Germany.

And the mysterious race car driver? Most likely to be Formula 1 star and 2007 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen. Kimi has devoted his passion for design and technology to actively take part in the concept and development of TAG Heuer watches and, more recently, of TAG Heuer Avant-Garde Eyewear line. He wears the TAG Heuer Carrera Racing as well as the New TAG Heuer Formula 1.

Designer watches take over as ultimate luxury accessory

Designer Watch Luxury with Louis VuittonDesigner Watch Luxury

For years the designer handbag has reigned supreme as the leader of fashion and has been the most sought after accessory for women worldwide. From Chanel and Dior to Louis Vuitton and Bvlgari, what women wore on their arms has dictated everything from cultural status to checkbook balance. No self deserving celebrity would dare to grace a red carpet event, bookstore signing or ladies lunch without the latest token Balenciaga tucked under her arm, or a vintage Prada hanging from a well toned shoulder. But enter the understudy to the bag fetish that every purse Princess is snapping up and snapping on ……The Designer Watch

In emerging luxury markets such as India, China and Russia, timepieces have come to be perceived as ultimate status symbols, with the Western world following suit and sales of designer watches soaring: The LVMH group that boasts brands such as Louis Vuitton and Tag Heuer announced in 2006 that their profits had quadrupled with brands such as Gucci, Fendi and Versace making in roads to this most lucrative fashion business. Louis Vuitton is also set to introduce its first watch created by in house designer Marc Jacobs. Named The Emprise, the watch will have a sleek 70’s feel and no doubt a touch of the old Louis Vuitton classic styling that we have come to love in their handbags. Hermes have increased their stake holding in Swiss watchmaker Vaucher Manufacture Fleurier, who currently produce high precision movements for Tiffany and Corum, in readiness for the next cult fashion trend that will be designer watches.

Even though we will continue to see our favorite celebrities toting their exquisitely expensive handbags, the designer watch is on par as the ‘must have’ accessory for 2008 and beyond. With the majority of designer timepieces beginning at $2000 upwards, it’s no surprise that fashion houses are all looking to cash in on this lucrative little earner that is the designer watch.

The wonderful world of designer watches

There was a time, not so long ago, when a watch was merely used for telling the time: 2 hands, a face and a wrist strap were all was needed, with watchmakers in demand to create and mend quality timepieces. Many treasured watches had been passed down from generation to generation, with gold pocket watches and silver cased fob watches a favorite amongst a forgotten era of time tellers. And then a new revolution of watchmakers began, with brands such as Omega, Rolex and Brietling making themselves known in certain circles where what you wore on your wrist depicted how much you made in the boardroom. Diver and sports watches became particularly fashionable, with claims made not only about the waterproof features of certain models, but exactly how deep you could dive whilst wearing one. Of course something of major importance when the only water you ever glimpse is over the city bridge in yet another traffic jam on the way into the office.

Nonetheless, watches have become a status symbol, an essential accessory and a designer must have with a number of fashion houses jumping on the bandwagon: Chanel entered the market in the late 80’s with their unique CC design gracing both male and female watches, with the likes of Christian Dior and Louis Vuitton admittedly with a more demure price tag and a lower price bracket , proving that what you wear on your wrist is as an important an accessory as what you wear on your feet and carry on your arm. following suit. All of these designer offshoots don’t come cheap with lines featuring diamond faces, calf leather straps and the necessary gold and silver gilding. Designers such as Juicy Couture and Marc Jacobs have recently followed suit, though
